    1. I first heard about Vivien Leigh many years ago and wanted to know about her. This biography, though shorter than I expected was not bad I found the actress s life very sad because of the way mental illness affected it Her marriage to Laurence Olivier came to an end because of it.Though, it was sad I did learn a lot about the actress Would I recommend Probably not, I think there are better biographies about her out there 3.5 5

    2. Gone withe wind is my all time favourite film and I have read other books about Vivien Leigh This is just as good as others out there You wont learn anything new in this biograph and not much is given away about her mental health issues and how they effected her specifically but this is recorded in Laurence Olivier s biography.

    3. This biography lacks the beauty and poetry of other biographies due to its coldness to its subject and its abrupt end However, the clinical tone paints the most heartwrenching portrait of Ms Leigh s madness.

    4. Rather like the version of a VL biography, short and to the point This book was very fact oriented, but didn t leave you with the feeling that you understood Ms Leigh as a person, any better than before you began the book.

    5. Even though the ending was too abrupt to my taste I did enjoy the structure of the chapters The many grammatical errors however drove me half mad Surely there are better and better edited biographies of Vivien Leigh out there.

    6. Hated this book Should have known better than to buy a 180 page biography It s Carole Lombard, not Carol Lombard and the unidentified person in the photo on page 67 is Victor Fleming, one of the directors of Gone With The Wind Just a couple examples of the many errors in this book.

    7. Didn t like it at all I have read several bios on Vivien Leigh and this was the worst It seemed as though the author didn t even care for her as a person.

    8. Very informative and lots of pictures detail Leigh s life I m obsessed with Vivien Leigh and this book helped me get to know what kind of person she was in and out of the movie world.
