    1. 3 STARSLynn Shaw has been working to atone for her messy past She s a successful counselor for a group home for runaway teenage girls Girls that have problems that she could relate to But difficulties arise when she and the homes caretakers make a move into a new neighborhood The residents, particularly one man with a mission, are against the safehouse s relocation That s until state senator, Erik Gunther makes it his mission to stand behind the safehouse and it s occupants He s intrigued by Lyn [...]

    2. Maybe 3 1 2 Stars, can t quite decide There are some thing I really liked about this oldie and some things I didn t Loved Erik, our Last White Knight hero Loved the touch of mystery too I found Lynn, the heroine, abrasive, closed up, a martyr and a coward She did show a lot of growth in a short book, but I didn t really like her.Lynn Shaw is a counselor for runaway girls at a home for them that is in upheaval due to a forced move Their new neighborhood in upscale and not at all happy with their [...]

    3. 3.5 starsBefore becoming a 1 New York Times Bestselling author with her thrillers and suspense novels, Hoag was an author with Bantam s Loveswept line of romance books. The Last White Knight is a reprint of a Loveswept romance originally published in 1992 If you are looking for a thriller, you won t find it here There are a couple of reviews rating this poorly because it is gasp a romance novel double gasp Really, I would have thought the title and synopsis might have provided a clue.Kudos to the [...]

    4. I wouldn t have normally picked this up, but I did after I learned that Ivan is distantly related to Tami Hoag back when we first started dating As I m systematically clearing out the audiobooks on my Rhapsody, I finally arrived at this one, over two years later. As romances go, this one had some elements that I could relate to The female protagonist worked with teenagers and was often mistaken for a teenager herself , suffered migraines, and threw herself into her work so that she wouldn t have [...]

    5. I must be a total romantic but I loved that the Senator did not give up on his belief that they would make a great pair I couldn t put this book down She didn t get good reviews on this book Sometime about her writing mystery I think but I must just love a happy ending Great book Take a chance and read this book.

    6. My first book my Tami Hoag It was pretty good. The premise of Lynn Erik meeting, and the banter between them was really enjoyable A bit of a love hate attitude In my oppinion Lynn beats herself up a bit much, about her past, and the whole I m not worthy , about having a happy ending with the guy made me roll my eyes But over all a quick read with a romantic, happy ending I liked it.

    7. I picked this up from a give away bin thinking Tami Hoag wrote suspense Although there is a minor mystery, the book is mostly a romance very cheesy and unrealistic.

    8. It is a cute book but I gave 3 stars only because it is too predictable Using the same old formula of boy meets girl, boy falls in love, and there is the rejection part by one of them or both of them, etc.

    9. I generally enjoy reading novels from Tami Hoag Her thrillers tend to be pretty good reads, but The Last White Knight was absolutely dreadful in so many different levels In this story, Lynn Shaw runs Horizon House, a place for troubled teenaged girls to stay Locals are protesting the location of the house, prompting state senator Erik Gunther to get involved Gunther has dreamy good looks and is too good to be true, except in this case he does want to help Meanwhile, he and Lynn fall madly for ea [...]

    10. Library Audible Lynn Shaw worked at Horizon House a refuge and centre for troubled young teenage girls and Lynn was their than their counselor A local nasty opportunist has rallied the local people to try and get them removed from their church provided temporary accomodation So it s no wonder State Senator Erik Gunther mistakes her for one of the teenagers initailly when he turns up to support their cause against the crowd opposing Not that he exactly fits the description of a politician, with h [...]

    11. Another easy book to listen to while knitting I need to find something challenging now that Valentine s Day is over.I ve over done the love stories Challenging, but not so much that I stop knitting to listen or lose my place in the yarn pattern will be hard.

    12. Horizon House would have to close, and causes are many, ranging due to housing shortages Protesters were lined up outside Horizonts out with the beginnings with a darkest narrative and from the plot of being in counselor Lynn Shaw s life throughout this story, I feel, though I never protested in Citizens for Family Neighborhoods, by opinion I would feel nimble, with it s thin filled character outlines, i.e Father Bartholomew is a surprising and supportive character, one who mettles Gunther is on [...]

    13. Another of Tami Hoag s early romance novels that, IMHO get too many bad reviews because readers go into it expecting a suspense This was very good Our Heroine is a counselor for troubled teens at a halfway house, having been one herself, and is very skeptical about the White Knight Senator Erik Gunther Erik has some preconceived notion that Lynn points out to him and we see the growth of our hero He sets out to be a better person and its really nice to see him succeed But it s Lynn who has the s [...]

    14. Tami Hoag wrote this for Loveswept novels in 1992 not my kind of reading She has done some of my kind of writing since then, nothing noteworthy, but better, in my opinion.Lynn Shaw is the proprietor and counselor of Horizon House, a home for girls Elliot Graham is trying to bar the house and it s inhabitants from moving into the neighborhood Father Bartholomew has leased it to them And Erik Gunther is The Last White Knight Lynn falls for Erik, Erik falls for Lynn, Lynn falls for Erik, Erik falls [...]

    15. The good thing about this book, is that it is quick to read This however does not distract from the utter dated dross it is The main character is weak and wet The hero is 2 dimensional and hunky This book was written in the early nineties and the complete lack of Girl Power is overwhelming.I picked this up at the library looking at the author s name, rather than the cover I was in a rush I ve enjoyed her suspense novels previously, and I m pleased she moved on from this awful mess to doing what [...]

    16. Even thought this is one of Tami Hoag s early works, it still resonates with emotion The story is short, but fits the profile of the series romance that it once was I so miss Tami Hoag as a romantic suspense writer I know she currently writes only suspense novels, but her depth of description and emotion always came through in her romance novels It s too bad, that just once in a while, she doesn t come out with a romance novel.

    17. I m surprised there s no mention that The Last White Knight is in the same universe as Straight from the Heart I happened to read the two within a few weeks of each other, so I picked up on it, but it makes me wonder about Tami Hoag s other books Still, neither was particularly thrilling.

    18. This book follows Straight From the Heart It is about the sister of the girl in the first book She works at a home for pregnant girls A state senator comes to the home to get some publicity and thinks she is a resident there They fall in love but she has a past and refuses his love so that she will not ruin his chances as a politian but he convinces her that together they can weather anything Pretty ordinary and very much on the surface Characterization was pretty superficial.

    19. This was a nice light read for a Sunday afternoon, while doing laundry and suffering from a cold The characters were likable and the part of the story about the home for troubled teenage girls was interesting I think it would have been a better book if we could have gotten to know the girls at Horizon House better This book, being a romance, focuses mainly on the relationship between Lynn, the Horizon House counselor, and Erik the senator dedicated to their cause.

    20. I m a huge fan of Hoag s suspense novels, but this is the first time I ve read one of her old romances What can I say It s somewhat sweet and predictable, and just a teensy bit cheesy Soft porn in some places, too In other words, it s OKAY Not great, and not awful, but on the plus side, it s fast reading, non taxing, and a pleasant alternative to watching TV.

    21. My fault I love Tami Hoag s current writing I think she s top notch I thought to go back and read one of her much earlier romances but the old restricted to the formula, kind of wimpy, outdated heroine just didn t do it for me Best to stick with how far this author has come rather than go back to read the early stuff.

    22. My newest book on disc for driving entertainment between my many stops I think there are only a handful of her books I haven t read now This is the first one I ve ever listened to And I was disappointed I think perhaps it s because it wasn t one of her mystery thrillers but one of her romance books instead ugh I ll stick to the mystery books she writes, I love, love, love those

    23. Lynn runs Horizon House, which is a halfway house for girls There is a lot of opposition for the house s new residence A state senator steps in and helps them The mystery is solved and Lynn the Senator fall in love There is a great deal of healing going on all around Makes for a great story A little raunchy in places, but very good.

    24. A romance novel by Hoag Yes, it s true and not bad for a romance novel since I ve read a lot worse A somewhat true narrative of the difficulty in providing housing in nice neighborhoods for runaways, ex addicts and ex cons The struggles involved in separating them from the very people who get them in trouble Environment does matter.

    25. A romantic tale of love and trust and letting go of one s brutal past to find redemption in another person s arms With all politicians were as hunky and compassionate as State Senator Erik Gunther He s even a Demoncrat for crying out loud Maybe the country wouldn t be in the mess it s in if all had a little Erik in them Good read.

    26. Not too shabby Read it by the pool, though, because it isn t too deep, nowhere near intense, and not very believable I struggle with believing a politician is that hot Maybe because I ve never seen one.The story is likable enough, well written, and simple Hoag s best stuff are her crime novels.

    27. This was a sweet break from technical library material, and my St Francis study A counselor manager of a troubled girl s home is being attacked by a neighborhood group that wants her to move the home somewhere else A state senator comes to her rescue and love blooms.

    28. Dear Tami Hoag,Please stick to writing suspense novels and leave romance to others This was painful The purple prose and the euphamisms for sex oh god I couldn t stop laughing.Sincerely,Nightfalltwen
