I enjoy a plethora of genres, but I always remember fondly the sweet romances I read in my youth My In Hyacinth novellas have been out for almost two years and I am now focused on a new series The series will have romance, but the emphasis will be on the interpersonal relationships of the characters The first book, a prequel that gives you an inside look into a few of the main characters, is actually a short story that will be part of an anthology As soon as I have a pub date for it, I ll let you know.

    1. I am disgusted.First, I must say that I have no recollection of purchasing this book But I found it on my kindle this afternoon thought, What the heck Guess I ll see what it is After all, I only ever look for books in the Christian Fiction section on so Why not try it I knew pretty much from the beginning that I was not going to like it So I ended up skimming most of it just to see if the whole book was going to be the way it appeared at the beginning It was.Don t read this book Please don t Esp [...]

    2. The town of Hyacinth, Washington is one that lives and practices with old fashioned ideas The Bretherton family moves there near the end of their daughter, Kathy s, junior year Seeking a better life to live in a comfortable surrounding where peer pressure and sex before marriage are not part of this community and their family moral values Kathy is already 18 years old, so she is considered eligible for courting Her life is now going to revolve around the gentlemen courting her, Xander Covington [...]

    3. Fast moving read about Kathy Bretherton, a sweet 18 year old who moves into a community called Hyacinth with her family People here are into very traditional values which include the old fashioned idea of courting This was an interesting meet for Kathy and the hero, Alexander Refreshing in that it was a sweet romance, and though I would have liked a little time spent with Kathy and Alexander together, it was an enjoyable story.

    4. This was an interesting story which takes place in Hyacinth, a place which practices Domestic Discipline When the girls turn 18, there is a time period of courting which happen when the girl is told through a dream, or thought, of the name of the man who was chosen by god It s very sweet and was well written with an unusual story line and excellent character development.

    5. The first few pages included mentions of the MC s dad disciplining her mother with his belt when she did something wrong Nope nope nope nope.

    6. I m scratching my head over this one It s a story where nothing happens to characters not worth caring about in a town no one in their right mind would want to live in Mercifully short.

    7. Courted by Discipline was recommended to me by a fellow reviewer who knew that I am a fan of the Corbin s Bend series While both series are based on Domestic Discipline DD relationships, Corbin s Bend is about adults who are involved in sexual relationships whereas In Hyacinth is focused on the courting culture of the town of Hyacinth Much like my reaction to my first Corbin s Bend book, I m a little off balance after finishing Courted by Discipline In Hyacinth, once a girl reaches her eighteen [...]

    8. This book is by far so left field from what I normally read, that I wasn t sure how I would feel about it But now I m so glad that I took the jump and read this story because I can t believe how great it was, and I really can t wait to read from this series in the future. The story that we get to follow along with is Kathy and her family s move to Hyacinth, which is a town completely different from what she is used too First off, I thought that Ms Cariad did a great job at Kathy s attitude towar [...]

    9. First of all, this is a domestic discipline story There is a romance as well, but there is no sex in this story That being said Kathy and her parents move to Hyacinth because they worry about Kathy and the way her friends have been pressuring her to have sex I m not sure that is the way most young people act, but I will suspend my disbelief because this is a story Anyways, once they move there, Kathy discovers that girls are courted by a man at least 10 years older than she is when she is 18 The [...]

    10. Main Characters Kathy A girl who moves with her family to the town of Hyacinth just after she turns 18Xander A lawyer who has come home to help his family during his father s illness and stays to court KathySynopsis When Kathy Bretherton moved to Hyacinth at the age of eighteen, she looked forward to living amongst people who believed in traditional values like her family did She did not expect to become part of the Hyacinth Courting pool and the object of interest of every man looking for a wif [...]

    11. 4 stars This was an interesting read when a teenage girl 18 moves with her family to a place call Hyacinth It is a strange place where things must remain proper with courting, not dating Girls are courted by men 10 years their senior or older, after then can prove they have the means to support a wife The courting that eventually can lead to marriage after a year is arranged b y their family That being said, I am not sure how I felt about the story It was well written There is no hand holding or [...]

    12. I was impressed by this book I was expecting it to be very trite and awkward but instead I found it riveting This book describes an entire community that practices very patriarchal principles The males rule the household and community through the use of domestic discipline and very strict codes of behavior The domestic discipline and courting practices in Hyacinth were explained very well and it was the perfect beginning to a new series.Alexander and Kathy are both very interesting characters an [...]

    13. I read a savage review on Kindle but really couldn t agree with Tomsreads It wasn t quite to my liking because I much prefer consensual domestic discipline and that really wasn t the case with this book The girl is just 18 when they move to Hyacinth Her father tells her very little about the town and nothing about the Courting Yet very soon she is embroiled in it all and forced to make a decision as to whether to embark on it or not Hardly an informed decision I also felt there was a huge discre [...]

    14. This is a story that really pulls you in I enjoyed that this is the first of it s kind in the genre It brings in elements that most main stream spanking romances leave out I find the town of Hyacinth fascinating, but what really made the story for me were the strong and well developed main characters This is a series that I m looking forward to continuing.

    15. This book is a very sweet romance I like the way all the differences in the the area s courting were introduced to her She was very surprised to say the least.
