    About "Virginia Nelson"

      • Virginia Nelson

Virginia Nelson believed them when they said, Write what you know Small town girl writing small town romance, her characters are as full of flaws, misunderstandings, and flat out mistakes as Virginia herself When she s not writing or plotting to take over the world, she likes to hang out with the greatest kids in history, play in the mud, drive far too fast, and scream at inanimate objects Virginia likes knights in rusted and dinged up armor, heroes that snarl instead of croon, and heroines who can t remember to say the right thing even with an author writing their dialogue Her books are full of snark, sex, and random acts of ineptitude not always in that order.

    1. This had great potential but was missing elements Storyline didn t transition clearly or consistently Far too much happening at a rapid pace, with no clarification or development Inner monologues were repetitive and got slightly boring I ll give the next one a tryhopefully there s been an improvement in the style of writing.

    2. This book with one of my favorite themes of the fake engagement starts out strong There is sizzle between the leads and a kind of randomness to their meeting that makes the love story extra fun The fact that the heroine has a child adds new layers to this theme However, this fact wasn t integrated in a way that was compelling The little girl became of a plot point than anything else The heroine s best friend was great The book floundered for me in the end with too much push pull cliche but was [...]

    4. CEO Camden James had a fiancee, one who cheated and lets face it he didn t love her Now with his fathers unexpected visit, he knows the only way to get the stocks for the company he rebuilt is to find another fiancee Fortunately for Camden, in walks call center employee Jeanie Long Winging it, he pulls her into his life as his faux fiancee and although she has a few secrets he plans to uncover, he cant get enough of her Camden doesn t believe in love, but he does believe in attraction and he thi [...]

    5. 2.5 stars.I gotta say, I wasn t much of a fan of this book It just wasn t for me.I guess, mostly, it was the fact that these guys were all over the place One moment they liked each other, then they acted cold to the other, and then they were hot as hell It was just too much flip flopping for my taste They constantly acted the opposite of what they were thinking of doing, and there was a LOT of miscommunication, or like lack of communication.I just couldn t see them together at all, even when th [...]

    6. I loved the book, and Virginia Nelson is an author I will read again and again What I loved most about Penthouse Prince was that she added a lot of classic references dressing like Audrey Hepburn, then the famous quote by Rhett Butler, the fairytale type nickname that the hero received from the press, etc into the story Yet, this doesn t feel like a book I read before The author s voice is strong and she brings a fresh twist to the tropes Jeannie is a great heroine I really rooted for her She an [...]

    7. This is a 2015 must read Life hasn t been easy for Jeanie Growing up at an early age is hard In an effort to save her current job, Jeanie finds herself being offered a new but odd job by the company CEO Camden, who wants her to pose as his fianc If she can survive the arrangement without losing her mind or her heart, Jeanie will be able to resume life without any financial burdens Wow I loved this book I was sucked in within the first chapter and lapped up ever word from then on It was well writ [...]

    8. This was painful to readI don t know how I forced myself to finish this book The main character Camden was awful, his thoughts and words just seemed so corny The scenes didn t flow, one minute the characters where in one location and the next some where else It was very badly written.

    9. Can you think of a better way to spend our honeymoon I mean, if I m not brooding and you re not drunk and we don t tell stories ITS DONE Owwh im gonna miss these characters I loved this book it was really cute

    10. This book was pretty good Had the 50 shades thing going for it without the whips and chains I also can never turn down a book with a mom and her kid needing help and with the twist that came along with the kid was very good Her whole boss thing kind of came out of left field but I m glad something happened with that just wished that would have been put to rest sooner then it had

    11. Review can be found at Jackie s Book World DRating 4.5 5Penthouse Prince was a delightful read, it was full of romance, and chemistry between the characters that it had me hooked from the very beginning Jeanie Long has had rough life growing up, not only did her parents basically turned their backs on her, but she was also left to be a single mother Now her work is all she has to take care of her daughter, Kaycee, but her manager is threatening her job after Jeanie caught him in a compromising s [...]

    12. THE PENTHOUSE PRINCE Fantasy in the Bedroom the Boardroom fangswandsandfairydust 201If you can totally ignore the way businesses with a board actually function in America then you might ignore the confusing mix of a guy who runs a business and a guy running for office This CEO, Camden, spends his days at public events like a politician, not running a business Bull Hockey. The premise of this story is that the father who holds enough shares to make a majority, but who doesn t know crap about busin [...]

    13. 3.5 Star ReviewCamden James is looking to takeover the shares of his company and he needs to shed his playboy ways in order to do so Unfortunately marriage is something he has no interest in as his parents marriage was a disaster A fake fiance fits the bill and Jeanie Long was in the right place at the right time Jeanie was only trying to save her job when she made her way up to her boss office, she never intended on becoming his bride. This story is one that has been told many times and initiall [...]

    14. ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.Let s be honest here This book was amazing This author has such a way with words that you won t be able to put this book down once you start Its refreshing to see an author put such a unique twist on a billionaire love story Jeannie is a woman who knows that by talking to the head of the company might mean losing her job That s okay with her She s prepared for it What she wasn t prepared for was meeting the head of the company and him pr [...]

    15. ARC provided by Entangled Publishing, LLC via NetGalley for an honest review.I LOVED THIS STORY It was such a quick read form me because it was FUN to read Camden and Jeanie Camden is known as the Penthouse Prince he keeps women at arms length because he doesn t believe in relationships His only point of reference is his parent s disaster of a marriage But daddy won t give him the Company until he is satisfied that Camden is married and happy That s gonna be a problem since his current fianc e i [...]

    16. 4.5 star rating.I would have given it a 5 star rating but the beginning was a little cheesy and could have had a better start But after the rocky start I loved the rest of the story Jeanie was a strong, sweet and beautiful heroinee had spunk and sass too, which I love In y heroine Camden didn t stand a chance And our hero was swoon worthy Strong but tender and sweet And he was great with Jeanies sister too.Great marriage of convience story, except for the kinda silly start MC had chemistry and s [...]

    17. I was in the mood for an easy light hearted romance This was neither easy or light hearted Honestly I was shocked by how depressing most of this story was And I was irritated as shit that the majority of the H vs h conflict could have been saved by a single HONEST conversation Jesus it was like reading two teenagers I really love him her but I ll never tell him her because maybe they don t love me back Even if the H said he didn t believe in love most of the book, he was never once honest with h [...]

    18. When Jeanie goes over her boss s head to complain about an indiscretion she had discovered, little did she realize, she d end up in a new positon with a new fianc to boot She initially thought she d be fired because of what she was going to say But providence smiled on her instead Good thing Camden was all for it and his dad was the reason for the ruse, not to mention that his real fianc e was off doing who knows what with who knows who It was a delightfully fun read and you rooted for the polar [...]

    19. Jeanie was having trouble with her boss, so she went straight to the top To the CEO of the company, Camden, the playboy Penthouse Prince There, she was in the right place at the right time to be caught up in a sham engagement that Camden suddenly needed Camden hires Jeanie to be his fiance until he can gain the shares he needs from his father. But Jeanie has secrets she doesn t want Camden to learn And what happens if her heart becomes involved There were a few premises that I didn t buy into, in [...]

    20. My thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing LLC, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review I loved the banter between these two characters as they constantly had each other on their toes, however the whole warm to cold on their feelings did get a trifle annoying. On the whole Camden was a lovable character, he just had an issue to overcome, but Jeanie inadvertently helps him, especially when she leaves him. Both have cold members of the family who want something from them, but the [...]

    21. Just when you think the trope has been done to death Virginia Nelson gives it her own special touch Camden James is a high powered businessman who needs a fianc quick Jeanie Long was in the right place at the wrong time and got sucked into Camden s charade They didn t expect to fall in love Yes, you ve read it before but not like this I truly got a kick out of this bookC provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

    22. Wow This Penthouse Prince has a really thick head Young single mom needs to talk to the boss about her manager and next thing is she is moving in with the prince She needs to keep your job thinking she found her manager stealing from the company and having sex in the break room While she walks to the top floor, Prince walks in and bam he had to have her Quickly contract to be in a fake relationship that turns out to be than opened hearts for these two.

    23. Find this review and at Painful ReadsLOVED LOVED LOVED Just gah lee man this book was perfect If you love fake relationships please trust me when I say you need to get this one Camden and Jeanie are so lovely and gah dang man, yall are most definitely going to fall in love with these two.

    24. Such an excellent read It starts off fun and full of surprises and gets better from there While it is the usual fake fiancee trope it has a new and fresh twist that makes it a complete joy to read The characters of Camden and Jeanie feel genuine and real and so does the off the charts chemistry between the two I highly recommend this one for everyone s must read list.

    25. I loved this book Ms Nelson s approach to the common fake fiance trope is refreshing and fun The story is well written and told by both of the main characters Something I thoroughly enjoy Once I started reading, I found it hard to put downC provided by Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

    26. Re read January 2018Re read April 2017The fake engagement is one of my favorite themes Most of them are a bit ridiculous, and this one is no exception, but I liked it.

    27. US UK CA BN iBooks My first thought was holy crap does this book jump right in, almost rushed But then I kept reading and it fit so well Everything was tied together perfectly Everything being so rushed and unanswered was exactly how this story line needed to be written I was without a doubt pulled in Which is a wonderful thing because I LOVE fake relationship theme books, but I am picky.I m a sucker for guys changing their ways slowly and without realizing it Typically the male lead is a playbo [...]

    28. I enjoyed this story and I can cosign my feelings because I literally read the same story line before I read this one and I was still interested Still, there were moments when my focus waned when the story started to lose focus and was all over the place with all sorts of ridiculous notions, declarations and glaringly awful conflicts.I love Camden Jeanie but Camden is my favourite Maybe it s his cold demeanor that I love in my book boyfriends but there was something about him that made you want [...]

    29. Eh, I ve definitely read better. To be clear, I didn t hate it I finished it because I was curious to see how it all came together There were interesting subplots but on the whole, it didn t grab me and pull me in Both Camden and Jeanie have some skewed ideas on what love is and that grated on my nerves. It justfell kind of flat for me It was interesting and short enough to keep me going, but I didn t engage in the story I didn t feel for the characters And self awareness was a long time coming fo [...]
