    1. Whether it was the beginning or the ending, I can t deduce but it just reached all the expectations I had, sailed through and crossed them. The writing style, the words used, the plot, the characters all of them and the not very lingering but very coherent chapters made me addicted to this book Maybe it was the way the writer explained everything, by starting with a beautiful portrayal of the island , the mountains and the Kallika river. When I started the book , I had no perception whatsoever reg [...]

    2. The book is about an island Sarpameru which is created out of mythical powers of the sage Kshiprajyoti He is a puritanical sage who wants to get away from the mainland, India He believed the people were getting corrupt and manipulating So Kshiprajyoti does penance and the island is created He envisions an idyllic life for the people of the island But what happens is perhaps the story of all lands where indigenous people have given ways to people coming in from different regions Over period of ti [...]

    3. With so many ideologies sprouting from one and the another one, the plot which starts as a simple and an engaging account starts becoming confusing till the last of the pages I have read and reviewed work from the author but, sadly, this time it didn t work out for me Even, the book cover has not projected it to full momentum, including a subtle color scheme I felt as if a beautiful plot has been overdone and thus, lost its luster The idea was fab and though, he tried to give a nice form but it [...]

    4. 2.5 stars actually A decent second book which is good in parts and tough to digest in few places The book has 3 tracks The first is the authors interpretation of origins of sectarian politics which sounds credible The nightingales, ostriches and woodpeckers on the imaginary island of sarpameru it doesn t take much to figure who they allude to The second track which is interwoven with the first is on the lives of 3 women named after flowers This is a part that appears as if it was meant as a chap [...]

    5. My first thought was that the book is a thriller, but in real the book is multi layered Of late, intertwined plots seem to be in fashion, and this book is one such genre The book has romance, espionage, history, mythology, drama, and even social issues The book is actually about an island Sarpameru, which is created out of mythical powers of the sage Kshiprajyoti After a few pages, it moves into a life of three women, who strive to resolve various social issues Finally, there is some espionage s [...]
