Not Darker , More Like Richer I wasn t sold on this book when I first started it Evangeline lives with her Grandma, who is a haunt huntress , bayou swamp witch Evangeline s Mom was a huntress who was killed in the line of duty Evangeline is waiting to come into her powers, but she s late and she s afraid she may be a powerless middling Now, I ve read this before, and not to be a wiseguy but I wanted something special to get me into another version of this familiar story Well guess what Excuuuuus [...]


    2. ARCPretty good supernatural mystery for the upper elementary middle school crowd I would have liked know of Evangeline s back story does she go to school, does she have friends But, I think kids will enjoy it.

FYI I won an ARC of this book through a giveaway.I thought this was really well written it s clear and very readable The chapters are short, which I always love, too I found myself a little disoriented towards the beginning of the book, but I did settle into it after a handful of chapters, so it could have been of a personal thing than the fault of the book.About halfway through, the action picks up pretty significantly and doesn t really stop I haven t read many middle grade books that maintai [...]
